Rif Fort was built in the 19th century to protect Curacao from pirates and invaders. It’s located at the entrance of the St. Anna Bay in the west part of Otrobanda next to the internationally renowned floating bridge “de Pontjesbrug“. It’s 5-foot wall was bombproof and armed with 56 cannons. The fort lost its military purpose in the first part of the 20th century. This UNESCO World Heritage Site with its historic and artistic atmosphere now host a variety of shopping and dinning experiences. The Rif Fort offers nightly entertainment from Thursday to Saturday. Take time to visit the lovely boutiques, our brand new Rif Fort museum and unique souvenir shops located within the walls.
