Curacao map – Popular Areas and Neighborhoods

This Curacao map divides the island in distinct areas with its own unique atmosphere and things to do.

Westpunt

This is the quiet and green west part of the island, with beautiful beaches, green hilly landscapes, a national park, cultural heritage and high waves at the north coast. You can find Westpunt in the left top side of the Curacao map.

 

Pietermaai

Pietermaai is in the center of the Curacao map. A couple of years ago this was a poor and no-go area. Today this is the place to be. You’ll find lots of good restaurants and nice bars to celebrate the weekend.

 

Williwood

A small village in the middle of the island with a popular ‘Snek’ (snackbar). You can spot flamingo’s at the salt lake, admire beautiful art in the local gallery, or visit one of the great beaches in this area.

 

Piscadera

In this neighborhood you’ll find a lot of hiking trails. At the beach you can do water sports, enjoy wonderful diners, discover the underwater world and take a drink at the bar, watching sunset.

 

Rif Fort

The historical Rif Fort, located in the capital city of Willemstad, transformed into a place that offers you a high-end shopping area and several restaurants. The Rif Fort offers nightly entertainment from Thursday to Saturday.

 

 

Seaquarium

Sea aquarium Beach (official name ‘Bapor Kibra’), is the first original developed tourist beach-area with many souvenir shops, restaurants, an unique aquarium, sport/activity-shops and the popular Maduro Beach Club and Wet & Wild Beach Club.

 

Blue Bay

Blue Bay is a beautiful big, but still quiet, beach resort with a 18 hole golf course, a dive shop, a bar and lounge. Even if you don’t stay at this resort, you can still visit the beach and enjoy offered activities.

 

Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara is a big Beach and Golf resort in the east part of Curacao. Here, you’ll find a Pete Dye-designed 18-
hole golf course, restaurants, exclusive shops and a Spa.

 

Sint Joris

Sint Joris Bay is an inland on the north side of the island. This is a great spot for hiking and water sports like wind- and kite surfing. In this area you’ll also find an animal farm, an aloe plantation and an artistic factory.

 


Otrobanda

Is one of the important historical quarters of Willemstad. Besides this historical heritage, you’ll find the luxurious Renaissance shopping area and the former defense fortress ‘Riffort’ for nice life performances and good food and drinks.

Punda

Is the touristic center of Willemstad with the colorful houses at the waterfront. Have a drink on a terrace with a view on the ‘Old floating Lady’ (Wilhelmina bridge), visit the local fruit market or have a typical local ‘Kryoyo’ lunch at Plasa Bieu.

Jan Thiel

Jan Thiel is a popular place among tourists. It has a lot of resorts from where you can walk  to different restaurants, bars, shops, a gym and a casino. Look for Jan Thiel at the bottom right side of the Curacao map.  Relax at the beach, enjoy the life music sessions and have a ice cream or drink at one of the awesome happy hours.

Oostpunt

This part of Curacao is private property and cannot be visited or driven by land. It is accessible by boat for admiring the south coast and exploring the wonderful  underwater world.
