‘Taste of the Caribbean’ is a culinary competition and cultural showcase. Once a year the best chefs and culinary teams come together to learn, demonstrate their skills and provide the general public an exhibition of the most savory and mouthwatering treats of the Caribbean islands. It is a showcase of the most popular trends in gastronomy from the following islands: Anguilla, Bahamas, Barbados, Bonaire, Curacao, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, Suriname and the U.S. Virgin Islands. This year the competition takes place in Miami from June 6th till June 10th 2016.
Since 1993, ‘Taste of the Caribbean’ has been the number one Caribbean culinary competition; it provides an annual opportunity to network, polish professional skills and cheer on colleagues in competition before a large audience of industry peers and food & beverage veterans. A highlight of the event is the head-to-head competitions between Caribbean culinary teams competing for top honors in Caribbean cuisine and beverages with the ultimate crowning of “Chef of the Year,” “Pastry Chef of the Year,” “Junior Chef of the Year,” “Bartender of the Year,” and “National Team of the Year.”
