Seaquarium

‘Seaquarium’ Beach, or locally called ‘Bapor Kibra’ (as signposted on the road signs) is an area where many hotels, restaurants and other tourist activities are gathered. It is the first developed tourist-area as it started with the build-up of the Curacao Sea Aquarium (1984) and later with the upcoming popularity of ‘Madero Beach Club’ and ‘Wet & Wild’ Beach Club. Now you find, right on the beach, various shops and activities to spend a lovely day or evening.

Note: ‘Bapor Kibra’ means ‘Broken Ship’ in the local language Papiamentu, being a shipwreck that lays on the bottom of the reef at 450 ft deep.
